I am working on SAP Master Data Governance and a beginner in the field.
I recently created a Supplier and have a CR number for it which has been approved after which I should be able to find it in the ECC. The ECC and MDG lie in the same system.
Can anyone please help me with the issue as to whats wrong and where do I need to rectify in order to find the created Supplier in ECC?

I am an ABAP developer for past 5 years. I am interested in learning MDG.
Working as a developer i have fair knowledge of master data of SD, MM, PP.
And also i have experience working with workflows and WebDynpro-ABAP.
Before venturing into this module, i have few questions.
It will help me a lot if someone can answer these naive questions.
1) Are there any prerequisites for learning MDG ?
2) Is it true that only few clients would need to have MDG ?
In other words, will there be lot of opportunities in the future.

I have configured the MDG for Supplier where I am using the standard workflow template for Supplier Create - WS53100044.
I have a couple of questions here where I need your expert help.
1.I create a CR, it goes for approval. When I run validation it starts asynchronously. Any idea why this is happening? Though there are no validation errors.
2. I can also approve the CR. If I have Company Code and Purchasing Org data in it then it needs processing but the workflow log says 'No Processor assigned'.
3. If I do not have these information fed in the CR, the workflow gets approved and the next step is 'Decision on Process Contact person'. Here it looks for a reference BP. I do not get the list of BPs to select from. Please advise what is missing.

I am new to MDG. Could you please suggest me where we can check the change request status details .
Eg: if my CR is with "Process Error after Activation" based on this where can I analyze why this error has occurred /troubleshooting.
Also some times if I am creating a FI vendor I am receiving the error message please maintain order currency. But our vendor is not relevant to purchasing.Could you please suggest how to correct this error message.

Hello MDG colleagues,
In MDG-F, we're able to create/change GL Accounts using entities ACCOUNT (for global data) and ACCCCDET (for company-code level data).
For both entities, a change request is created first with the key data, then the non-key data is added later, via 'Single Processing'.
My customer would like to maintain the key data and details in a single step on the same screen.
As far as I can tell this would not be supported by MDG: am I right?
Furthermore, they would like to maintain the data from both ACCOUNT and ACCCCDET in the same screen. When I call single processing for ACCCCDET, I can see the global data on the 'Basic Data' tab, and the company code level data on the 'Details' tab. The global data is read-only -would it be possible to make this data available for editing? I'm guessing not, but I want to confirm.

I am trying to walk through the configuration step "Process Definition of Rule-Based Workflow". I can select the type of change request, but when I press the Start button the system asks me to select a transport request. No matter what option I select I receive this error: 801CC4F0983C1DEEB5BD2D81A76FDE56 (invalid!) does not exist

I have used SAP pre-delivered content for MDG-M BRF+ based workflow and changed BRF user determination to role SAP_MDGM_MENU. Now I raise the create Change request for material. I get locking error in activation log when I myself try to approve the change request.
Please advice how I can correct it.

Hi everyone,
We are configuring MDG for Materials using the SAP Configuration Guide as our reference. Our Basis team has set up TREX and the required connections and we were able to create and index the 2 connectors (MATERIAL & MDG_MATERIAL) that is described in the config guide. In the Connector Administration Cockpit we can see our 2 connectors:
Connector Name: MATERIAL
Status: Active
Connector Name: MATERIAL MDG
Status: Active
Next we used the program "ESH_TEST_SEARCH" to perform an Enterprise Search Test to confirm that the connectors are working. For both the MATERIAL and MDG_MATERIAL connectors we are getting good results.
When we launch NWBC and access the Search UI for Material, we get the error:
Search connectors missing for MDG material / Search object connector MDG_MATERIAL not found
We created some Change Requests for materials to ensure that there is some data in the MDG staging area for the MDG_MATERIAL search connector to find, but we still get the above error.
Please can anyone share some advice on how we can further check the reason for this error.

We have configured duplicate search for MDG Materials as follows:
"Duplication Check is already present for Material as part of the standard content.
You can activate it through:
1) Go to MDGIMG ->General Settings -> Data Quality and Search ->Search and Duplicate check -> Configure Duplicate check for entity types.
2) Create a new entry in the table for MM.
Now we should be able to:
3) Then you can see a new button when you create a new CR,called "Duplicate check"
Pre-requisites (in place and working):
You should have already configured your enterprise search."
We however, still do not see the "Duplicate Check" button in the CR.
What are we missing?

Hi Experts,
Activation of change request should happen before going through all approvals. This way material will be created in the back end on submitting change request. Material will be used in the back end for the BOM or for some other purposes. Then workflow should continue for the approvals and at the end of the request, the same material should be changed after all enrichment by the approvals.
How can we achieve this one?
Options are:
1. Activation can happen on submitting change request and this can be achieved through BRFplus. But after the activation new change request will be created and using this material will be changed.
2. Activation can happen on submitting change request and this can be achieved through BRFplus. But after the activation use existing change request to change material after all approvals.

I often get the message that services are not activated but there is no service name mentioned in the error message. Is there maybe a list of all the services that are relevant for MDG ? Or how can I find out the name of the missing service ?

I would like to force a user to enter a plant for the initial create of a Material, however, I cannot find the fields in the MDG-M data model for the change request to do this.

Hi,
We have a requirement to extend the standard data model with MARD fields. SAP's response to the issue is that the data model will have MARD fields in MDG7 (due Q1 2014), however, our customer cannot wait.
Has anybody else done this?
We looked at the class CL_MDG_BS_MAT_API CALL_MMD and also the function module material_maintain_dark and it seems to contain the MARD structure, however, when we tested by breaking and manually passing MARD fields, it failed. Without doing more investigation, I would like to know if someone can assist to confirm if adding the fields will simply be a question of extending the data model, doing the SMT mapping and configuring the UI ?

Hi All,
I am currently implementing MDG Financials and need to update the Financial Reporting Structure. I have created an edition and change request and UIBB form, which seems to be working except for the the fact that the Financial reporting items must first be uplaoded into the staging table. This is where I am stuck. Does anyone know how to get the Financial reporting items into the Staging table, or to get around it. We have tried maintaining via sm31 - does not work, also tried the data import, and keep getting error that it cant open the file? Any suggestions?

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where I need to make the fields of the BP_CENTRL entity as editable for the Block and delete Customer process.
Currently, when a process a change request, the fields of the various entity are in read only mode.
I tried to change the field properties to make it editable in the class: CL_GUIBB_BOL_FORM, method: GET_FIELD_UI_PROP, however the fields are displayed in the read only mode for the block or delete process.
Please let me know how this can be achieved or if this is possible at all.

Hello all,
We have refreshed a QA Instance of MDG from our Production
Instance. MDG is up and connected to the QA Instance of TREX, however I think I
need to perform a Re-Indexing of some sort in order to sync it up.
I am not familiar with MDG, but I have been working with BIA for
a while. When we refresh usually I delete and rebuild all the BIA Indexes. I am
guessing I need to do the same here.
Does anyone know how I might do this?
