Need help regarding DRF

Hi MDG experts

 

We have the MDG deployed on top of the Operational ERP. After the master data passes through the MDG process, it is stored in the backend SAP ECC system. In this case, MDG is not expected to send the master data to any downstream systems. 

 

I have a few questions as below:

 

1. Based on the setup mentioned, is the master data transferred automatically from MDG (staging table) to the SAP ECC (active area) ?

2. Do we still need to configure the DRF, especially in case of MDG-S scenario ?

MDG 6.1 BP hierarchies upload

Dear all:

 

We need to upload several thousand customer hierarchy records from a CSV file to MDG-C 6.1.

 

I am currently wondering what the best approach is:

 

- All corresponding BPs/customers are already existing in the system. Do we now need to load the BPs/customers again which are the "node" BPs/customers and then do the corresponding upper node assignment- as well as end node assignment loads or is it sufficient to just do BPs/customers assignment loads since as I said all BPs/customers are already existing in the system (including those which are upper level nodes in the hierarchy) ?

 

- How does the integration of BP hierarchy (tables BUT_HIER_TREE, BUT_HIER_TREE_D, BUT_HIER_NODE, BUT_HIER_NODE_D, BUT_HIER_STRUCT, BUT_HIER_NODE_BP) vs. customer hierarchy (table KNVH) work in MDG ? Do we first need to upload the BP hierarchy since BP is always the leading object and MDG CVI will automatically create the corresponding customer hierarchy in the background ?

Classification,Plant and sales data not viewable on approver levels

Good day,

 

We have a problem that the approvers can only see the basic data that was captured by the data requestors in our create and change requests. It is not possible to view the data entered example on plant. The view is available in the UI but with the message "No data available" under the staging column.

 

The problem is futhermore that the data the requestor enters posts to SAP when the approver approves the request.

 

Any suggestions or solutions?

Approver can't view data provided by Requestor - Materials

Hi,

 

We have a problem that the data captured by the requestor is not visible to the approver when we create and change with the change request. The approver can only see the data on the Basic data. The other views are available but without data and with a message "No Data Available". When the approver approves, everything populated by the requestor is posted to SAP succesfully.

 

Anyone expierienced this before or know the solution to the problem?

MDG-M Score in duplicate check

Hi guys,

 

I configured TREX and duplicate check on a MDG-M 6.1 system.

 

Enterprise Search works fine, however I faced a "unexpected" behavior in duplicate check: the system identifies as potential duplicates only records that perfectly fulfill the specified matching criteria and the returned similarity score is ALWAYS 50.00.

 

On MDGIMG, I tried to modify the Low and High Threshold under General Settings -> Data Quality and Search -> Search and Duplicate Check -> Configure Duplicate Check for Entity Types and the weights for every relevant field under General Settings -> Data Quality and Search -> Search and Duplicate Check -> Define Search Applications: no changes at all!

 

Is anyone facing this problem?

Data Transfer - Import Master Data

Hi All,

 

I am trying to import a MATMAS05 xml into MDG, I have created the directory (using FILE) and copied the xml to the directory.

I then configured the transfer directory in MDGIMG. When I click SHOW DIRECTORY CONTECT nothing happens and when I

click simulate import I get the error No File selected for import.

 

Any ideas why this is happening?

MDG-F - Questions

I am looking into MDGF and in process of completing POC. I have presented high level overview to my Business units and need get back on some of following questions.

 

Our plan is to use same instance as current operational ERP.

 

  1. Can I design my own data model for any object in SAP? Our Users were very interested in Intercompany Transaction code(OBYA) and some Ztables we update when a new GL account is created.
  2. Will MDG replicate all validation currently ECC does? Example if a user change OIM account to Non OIM, then balance should be zero. Such type of validations.
  3. What’s the best way to extend GL Accounts from one Company code to multiple company codes using MDG? I am using File Upload, but was not sure. Sometimes we create 20 company codes at a time and extend all GL Accounts copying from an existing company code.
  4. Can I assign different Workflow for each Entity type in a single data model?
    • Currently GL accounts WF approval goes through different team when compared to Profit Center\Cost Center.

Activation of change request

Hi Experts,

 

Activation of change request should happen before going through all approvals. This way material will be created in the back end on submitting change request. Material will be used in the back end for the BOM or for some other purposes. Then workflow should continue for the approvals and at the end of the request, the same material should be changed after all enrichment by the approvals.

 

How can we achieve this one?

 

Options are:

1. Activation can happen on submitting change request and this can be achieved through BRFplus. But after the activation new change request will be created and using this material will be changed.

2. Activation can happen on submitting change request and this can be achieved through BRFplus. But after the activation use existing change request to change material after all approvals.

 

Please advise.

MDG-F BC set activation issue

Hello MDG Experts,

 

We are trying to configure the Finance module for MDG. As per the SAP documentation we are activating the FIN_MDM_ORG_CUST BC set.

We are getting issues while activating the BC set. In the Data Models of mdgimg trnasaction we have only 0G which is meant for Finance. We are getting the following issues,     

 

1. Change request type 0F: Specify either an edition type or a data model.

2. Entry A CCOA  does not exist in USMD0020 (check entry)

3. Entry A FCRS does not exist in USMD0020 (check entry)

4. Entry A TEXTITEM does not exist in USMD0020 (check entry)

5. No data found for writing activation links for object VC_USMD110.

6. Activation of customizing object VC_USMD110.

 

 

We followed the Note 1792567 which was very closely relevant to the Finance BC set activation. But this did not work out and still we are facing the above said issue.

 

Also I would like to know which data model to be used for Finance either 0F or 0G? We are seeing only 0G existing in the Data Models, but we are getting errors with 0F during the BC set activation. What could be the possible cause of the issue and what is the solution for this.

MDG Material - Search Issue

Hi MDG Experts,

 

I am facing an issue while configuring the Search for MDG Materials.

 

TREX is configured. Connectors were also present in active state. But the search result was showing me only the inactive Materials, though Material and MDG_Material connectors were present.

So, I deleted this connectors and I am trying to create them again. While I navigate to SAP_APPL (PLMWFI -> EA_APPL -> SAP_APPL), I get one error message, SAP_APPL is locked by my user ID. Please refer the screenshot below.

The same error occurs when other users try to do this. Its gets locked by their IDs.

 

Please advice how do I create the connctors now.

MDG M - Search Issue

Hello MDG Experts,

 

I am trying to create Connector for the business templates- Material and MDG_Material. But when I click on these templates, it shows me an error "Software component SAP_APPL has been locked by user ....". Other users are also getting the same error as mine.

 

TREX is configured. And I am selectng the business template under "PLMWFI -> EA_APPL  -> SAP_APPL".

 

The status of Material and MDG_Material was active but was not working. Therefore, I have deleted these from the Administrative Cockpit and I am trying to create the connectors again from Template Modeler when I am getting the error.

 

Please advice.

File Upload Problem

Hi,All

I'm trying to upload Customer/Supplier Master Data. I'm getting an error "You are currently not the processor of change request / No change request is assigned to you"

 

I have create an empty change request. Then the empty change request How could be(where) I have assigned to a user in the next step.

BRF+ derivation called in background step ?

Hi experts,

 

I would like to use the BRF+ derivations to set an inactive flag in the BP record, depending on the user action on the previous step.

We use the BRF+ WF WS60800086 on suppliers.

Action is not in the BRF+ context, but step information looks to be present : I can trigger a validation step after the action, so I want to execute BRF+ ruleset and potentially derive data, or evene have 2 parallel activation steps, on for one action, the other for an the other to derive the data and set a field in one case.

Otherwise, I found the how to guide on Materials which esplains on to extend the BRF+ context but if I can avoid any development/.enhancement, it's better.

So, Before doing this, I want to be sure we can run derivation this in a background step.

Does someone have the answer or an smart alternative tu put a value in a main entity field following the action shoosed by the user in the step (the field will we read-only in user interface)

Role SAP_MDGM_MENU_03 in portal

Hi All,

 

We are trying to upload content for MDG-M into portal. We have been testing with NWBC, but end state for MDG is using portal, however, when uploading content for the PFCG role SAP_MDGM_MENU_03 according to:

No IView content is displayed - (I have assigned the role to my user in portal.)

 

I then tried uploading the role SAP_MDGM, and this works, but this has the EHP5 MDG Menu IViews only.

 

Has anyone experienced the same issue? I am expecting Portal to look exactly the same as NWBC with the CHIPS (pi Graphs).

MDG-M Parallel Workflow

Hello,

 

I need to create a Parallel workflow in every step of the 04 steps Material creation process (Submit --> Agree-->Process---> Approve ----> Activate).

 

Could call it sequentially and activate the WF, now the requirement is every step will have 03 departments and all has to process and complete their step before moving to another step.

 

Any help please.

Getting error after clicking on "Start Deep-Copy" in FPM for MDG custom object

Dear MDG experts,

 

We want to create custom master data object in SAP MDG. we are using ECC 6.0 ehp5 .

 

In UI modelling step  we started "Edit UI configuration" and clicked on "Create"

 

After changing the target configuration id for "Application Configuration" we clicked on "Start deep Copy".

 

We are getting error

 

 

Configuration ZK_CP_1 cannot be changed in this system

 

 

Deep-Copy: Not all configurations have been copied

 

Please help us to resolve this issue.
