SAP MDG co-deployed with SAP ERP in different client
Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where my client wants to co-deploy MDG with new ECC system.
The ECC development for is happening for multiple SAP modules and the MDG development will begin simultaneously.
Question : is it a good option to have separate client for the MDG development?
Or should the MDG development be done in the same client as the other module?
Please help me with pros and cons of it.

How to configure SAP HANA-Based Search for MDG
Hi Experts ,
We are going to implement HANA-Based Search in below MDG system configuration.
# SAP_BASIS Rel. 731 , SP 0002
# SAP_APPL Rel. 606 , SP 0002
Is it feasible to implement the same in above system configuration ?
If YES then what are the steps need to implement for that ?
If NO then how can we achieve the same in MDG ?

HANA Search
Hello Everybody,
I am new in HANA and would like to see if you can assist me in some details.
We have completed configuring the HANA Customer Search steps in the MDG system as stated in the below link.

I now see two attributes in the HANA System, one HANA_REUSE and the Other HANA.
My question is, how do I customize this search so users are able to execute this in the MDG system?
There seem to be no documentation available in how to customize this search and how we need to insert/link this search to the user interface.

MDGA Article Master
Hi Experts,
I need some information regarding MDGA Article master. Did anyone implemented it yet. My client has an SAP IS Retail system and is interested to implement MDGA Article master for governance.
1) Is there any standard documentation available regarding MDG Article master.
2) What are the initial steps to implement MDGA.
3) Does it come as an optional MDG Package which is installed on top of IS Retails system. If yes, whats the package details.
4) If MDG is implemented in Hub mode what are the options to implement MDGA. How will it integrate with IS Retails system in Hub mode.

Add Additional Search Criteria - Customer Search - Enterprise Search
Hi ,
I have appended a ZFIELD in the KNA1 table as well as in the /MDGBPX/_s_BP_ES_BP_CUSGEN structure.
Now want to add this ZFIELD as an additional search criteria in the initial customer search dropdown for Enterprise search.
Referred the guide - How To MDG - Material Extend Search . In Most part of this document they have explained steps to add search criteria for MDG
6.1 . But I am looking for a solution to implement it on MDG 7.
Please advise how can I add custom attribute ( ZFIELD ) as a new search criteria ?

MDG C - Requester role having different change UI for different CR types
Hi ,
We have requirement to have the different Change customer UIs for 10 different change customer CR TYPES.
1. After selecting the customer on 'Search Customer' results, it displays stadard out-of-box UI with all UIBBs.
2. Then User select general data and click on Edit button and a pop-up displays with all Change CR tyeps ( assume that all CR types are attached to different UIs at CR steps ) and select CR types.
3. User should able to see different UI screen other than the below the pop-up UI screen .
Is this can be achived in MDG?.
Tried different ways but it did not worked. All the time its showing the out-of-box UI only for any CR type processing.

I heard that SAP MDM is going to shut by the year 2020 & SAP MDG will replace it. is it true?

If i wish to move from SAP MDM to SAP MDG, then how?
What are the prerequisites to learn SAP MDG?
I also heard that it requires some technical SAP ABAP knowledge.

Selection criteria for File upload mass change
Hi,
We have a requirement where we need to mass change relationship
category using File Upload method
Data Model is BP
For each Business Partner relationship data is maintained and it is like
e.g.
BP1 101
Relationships
BP2 - 102
Relationship category ZCH001
BP2 - 103
Relationship category ZCH002
BP2 - 104
Relationship category ZCH003
as per the above example BP1 i.e. 101 has 3 relationships.
Now customer wants to mass change the relationship data i.e. suppose customer wants
to replace 103 BP2 with 105 for relationship category ZCH002.
How to create a sample template to ensure only BP2 103 is updated with 105 and other
relationships are intact.
What should be my selection criteria
Any help would be really appreciated.

MDG-C system behaviour
We are enhancing standard code and observed the below issue,
While debugging we observe that for one user id ,class ‘CL_BS_BP_GUIBB_RELATIONS’ is executed first then class CL_BS_BP_GUIBB_RELATIONS is executed,
But for other user id class ‘CL_BS_BP_GUIBB_RELATIONS’ is never executed which makes the enhancement fails.
So should we do some version check for our ID's?
SU53 is also no help

Reconcillation account to be filled based on Account group and Company code
Hi Experts,
I have the following requirement in MDG.
I want to automatically populate reconcillation account field on the basis of account group and company code.
I used BADI USMD_RULE_SERVICE. In this I created by implementation. In this implementation i have put entity type BP_COMPANY for model BP.
The problem is when i check Derive_entity method i get company code and reconcillation field but didn't get account group. Can some one please help how to acheive it as i am not much aware of MDG.

SAP MDG Deployment Option : Customized
Hello Experts,
We have a client where we have to implement SAP MDG as pilot for one country and then there will be multi country roll outs. There is only one SAP ECC operational system in landscape along with Two instances at different geographical location.
Our Approach: One SAP Server with two clients in it and both these clients have two different SAP MDG instances which will talk to different ECC instances via ALE mechanism. So it both of them will have country or roll out specific configs such as TAX terms etc.
In a way it would be combination of HUB & Co Deployment approach.
Does this looks feasible ?

MDG-M: input data not visible
Hi everybody,
I implemented a pop up to fill some data, like material-type and plant.
This pop up shows up after the initial screen of MDG-M. The entered data is then stored via WRITE_ENTITY_DATA of convenience-API.
Unfortunately the popup-entered data is not directly visible in the following BS_MAT_OVP_05 screen.
It only gets visible after some action, e.g. checking the data or inserting some values in other fields.
Does anybody have an idea/hint what causes this problem?

Hello Guys ,
while activating the BP Data model I get the error indicated for two different entity types , any ideas ? .
accordingly tho the help: "SAP delivers data structures. If the data model that is delivered gets changed, this structure can no longer be used. " what does it means , Do I need to change the entity type ?

SAP MDG Custom Object - New Button Not Enable
Hi Experts,
I m trying to copy a custom development.
Scenario is mapping SAP Customer Code with External Account Code in a Z table.
I will copy the development then I will extend to an other Z table , I will be mapping SAP customer code with External ZZ Code
I have done all configs MDGIMG , there was a data model ZX mine is ZY.
USMD_OVP_GEN
When I change USMD_OTC from ZX_OTC to ZY_OTC, the button gets enable.

I have put Button "New 22" which seems fine , but there is no config for it. I just put for testing.
Where should I check?

MDG Vendor Governance Approve Step
Hi all,
Wondering if anybody has encountered the following situation:
MDG Governance for Vendor Master has a requestor and an approver workflow step. The requestor (person A) requests Vendor data to be created, so it fills the necessary data in NWBC (Vendor name, address, payment terms, etc). The Change Request gets submitted and then it goes to the Approver (person B).
The Approver can approve and the Vendor gets activated in the Database or the Approver can reject it, so it goes back to the Requestor.
Now the Approved should ONLY have the ability the Approve or Reject but not to change the data. Currently, the standard functionality allows the Approver to change the data at the same time he/she approves it, bypassing audit controls.
Has anybody has seen this situation and have the need for the Approver to only Approve or Reject the change request WITHOUT further changing the Vendor data the Requestor submitted?
We would like for the Approver to NOT have the ability to further change the Vendor data, just to Approve or Reject. Is this done via security?
We appreciate any input on this.

Central finance 1:n field value mapping
Dear all,
we are configuring Central finance value mapping through MDG framework and we are facing to an issue regarding this topic. We have two field values in source system that should be mapped to 1 value in target. It is like this
Source Target
Functional location XX
Cost element 11111 Gl Account 323232
We have tried to see how to do it but honestly we are a little bit lost and not sure whether is possible without an enhancement.
