Creation and governance of prospects with MDG-C/S

Dear all:

 

We are faced with the following requirement: Prospects (mostly customers but maybe suppliers as well) should be created via MDG Change Requests. Once the prospects are requested to become Sold-Tos (as well via MDG Change Request) they should turn into real R/3 customers. Does anyone now if this is a supported scenario (please note that we have no CRM in this scenario; please note as well that MDG will be co-deployed on-top of the R/3 ERP) ?

 

How could this possibly be configured ? Do we just need to create BPs/customers with prospect role "BUP002" in the first step/CR and then in a second step with a change CR role of the created prospects is changed to customer role "FLCU01" ? How will the prospects created in step 1 look technically in the system - I am assuming in TCODE BP they will have "BUP002" prospect role but in TCODE XD03/KNA1 they should not be usable as full customers (e.g. in sales orders) since only after they are "converted" to real Sold-To customers in step 2 they should be available for sales orders selection.

Would it possible to implement SAP MDG as  HUB for 2 different systems ( SAP and NON SAP systems ) - Different BU's.

 

If yes, how we could have customization data configured and achieved independently.

 

How we could run master data governance for 2 different BU's?

Steps to setup DRF to use Enterprise Services

Dear MDG gurus,

 

I'm trying to find a walkthtough on how to setup DRF to use PI WebService.

In my scenario I'm having a Custom MDG object (flex mode) and I am planning to Replicate it as a WebService to PI.

 

Please let me know if there is a suitable document for me to follow, or if you know the exact steps to configure the ECC system and the PI proxy class generation.

 

There is a document that explains the RFC approach, but the WebService one I can't find.

Checks and Derivations Not working in BRF+

Hi Experts,

 

I am having an scenario for applying the validation as well as derivation rule on some  fields in Material MDG through BRF+. I am just implementing a simple logic as Material type is not equal to "XYZ". if conditions satisfy than a Log message appear as " Enter XYZ in material Type". I followed step by step as mentioned in the below standard SAP MDG  document.

But,after everythings got activated, when I am trying to create change request and giving some value other than" XYZ". It is not showing me any error message.

 

Could anyone please help me on this and let me know if I missed something.

Released by field in change request is updating with wrong value WF-BATCH instead of the username

Hi All,

 

We are creating the change request in MDG for creating as well as changing the vendor...We use custom workflow for the approval and activating and distributing process...

The whole flow works fine but the Released by field is updating with the wf-batch not with the username who activated the request.The other fields change by ,created by etc..are getting update correctly...

we also implemented the notes 1575808  and 1653535.. i also binded the procesor to the set status method and checked the release_by binding in the activate_2 method of the workflow...still it is not working..

 

Can anyone help me out on this...

LIST Window UIBB in Custom MDG

Hi Gurus,

 

This question is with respect to List Window UIBB, component FPM_LIST_UIBB_ATS using feeder class CL_USMD_ENTITY_VALUE2_PROXY. Please see the screen shots below. I configured few attribute elements display type as input field, but at run time it does not allow me to edit the elements. I am able to edit the Form Window attributes but not the List Window attributes. Can somebody help me on this?

How to implement simple value checks in MDG-S

Hi MDG colleagues,

 

I'm working on a project to implement MDG-S, working with the latest version of MDG.

I've added a number of bespoke fields to various Supplier entity types, and these are filled by the user in the UI.

One of these is a field for a reference vendor, and so should only hold valid vendor numbers, from LFA1.

What is the best way to perform a simple check against the value table of the domain used for the attribute? (e.g. LFA1 in this case)

The options seem to be:

  1. Code a BAdI using interface IF_EX_USMD_RULE_SERVICE. I've tried this and it works, however the check runs on every FPM_REFRESH event - there's no obvious way to check if a value has changed. Also the eroneous field is not highlighted.
  2. Use BRF+
  3. Code a check into the feeder class. It looks like I'd need to look for a value change in the FLUSH method, store any new value, then perform the check in the PROCESS_EVENT method
  4. Is there any automated way to perform checks against the value table in FPM?

Hi Gurus,

 

I am following the steps outlined in How-to Guide: Extend MDG-M Data Model by a new entity (Reuse Option). 

 

I have extended data model "MM" with new custom entity types and have assigned the same with "MDG" reuse area. Currently I am in page 51 of the document. I am facing issues with regard to feeder class CL_MDG_BS_MAT_FEEDER_LIST. When I pass the below parameters it does not fetch all the attributes of the custom entity type. First of all I just want to know whether I am using the right feeder class, if yes, why it is not fetching the attributes of the custom entity type?

 

Feeder Class Parameters

 

Application Building Block ID : MDG_MAT

Node Name: ZC9_MATNR_ROLES

Number of Default Rows: 05

...

...

Entity Type: ZSHPGLSCN

Minumum BUPA configuration requirements for MDG-S

Hi Experts

 

We are currently busy with an MDG-S implementation at a client that does not have BUPA activated on their ECC system. SAP has indicated that the standard RDS for MDG-S needs BUPA to be configured on ECC. What is the minimum BUPA configuration requirements necessary on ECC to implement the standard RDS for MDG-S.

 

I am sure there must be someone out there that had to implement MDG-S and the client was not running BUPA for their Suppliers and Customer that can recommend and advice on the steps they took to implement this?

UWL Launch configuration for MDG workitems in SAP Portal

Hi,

 

We have configured MDG change request in SAP Portal UWL configuration and we are able to see those MDG change request in Portal as workitems.

Now when we click on an workitem in the Portal, it's says Page not found error or Unable to perform the request. See below Image.

further I saw there is a seperate UWL configuration to be done for launching an UWL worlk item by specifying which type (iview, or Webdynpro or SAP Application?) in UWL administration but could not proceed further.

 

So, my question: How do we configure launching MDG workitems in SAP Portal under work tab.?

Anyone configured MDG change requests in SAP Portal as above. From ECC NWBC is working fine as it's launching from ECC directly and I am only getting issues while launching from Portal.

 

Appreciate any helpful answers.

Create and change workflow not triggering BRF+ rules in MDM-M

Hi Experts

 

We have created CHECK and DERIVATION rules on FMDM_MODEL_MM. The Log message action that the rules perform are set to ABORT with a message.

 

Our problem is that the Create or Change workflow does not trigger the rule set and hence does not return any error.

 

We have tested this in simulation mode and there it is working correctly.

 

Has anyone encountered this before? Any suggestions on resolving this issue?

Staging Table updation

Dear Gurus.

 

I created a Custom Feeder class for Material Create and Change and when there is a change in the UI fields. It should update the Staging table /1MD/MD_____023. This table is for the Custom Entity that is extended for MM in Data Modelling.

 

Please let me know what could be the reason, why the data is not getting updated to the staging table when these custom fields are changed in the UI in both create Material and Change Material. Please assist.

Service Po's with Overal Limits - What table?

HI All, I'm trying to find a table or report that shows me a list of all th purchase orders that contain an "Overall Limit", "Expected Value" and "Actual" Value"  in the Limits Tab of a service po's.?

 

Additionally I would like to find a report that would show me po's with the outlined Service details int he Services Tab as well?

 

I can't seem to find anything that gives me what I need.

 

Any help would be appreciated!

NWBC timeout issue when creating Material in MDG

Hi Experts

 

We are using NWBC 4 PL 10 for creating materials in MDG. We enter a material number and click twice on "continue". We get the following error message briefly after clinking "continue" for the second time:

 

"500 SAP Internal Server Error

ERROR: User session (HTTP/SMTP/..) closed after timeout (termination: ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE)"

 

This error disappears after about 10 seconds and then displays the "Material: New" screen.

 

This is an annoying error that we can't seem to solve.

 

We do not get this error when using transaction NWBC from SAP.

 

Any suggestions?

File Upload Problem

Hi,All

I'm trying to upload Customer/Supplier Master Data. I'm getting an error "You are currently not the processor of change request / No change request is assigned to you"

 

I have create an empty change request. Then the empty change request How could be(where) I have assigned to a user in the next step.

SAP MDGF- Value Not Displaying in NWBC Front.

Hello Experts,

    

I am trying to configure MDG-F scenario for the change request types such as 0G_W001, 0G_W003 and so on. But I am unable to see the data of the G/L Account in NWBC for the particular Chart of Account and Company code.

    

I have also gone through the similar thread and tried with File upload option as suggested in the below thread.

But While assigning the blank change request to this functionality I am getting the error as Account GCOA/110000  doesnot exist. Here GCOA is the Chart of account and 110000 is the G/L account.

 

Below are the screenshot containing the error while creating/changing the G/L account and by uploading the File.

I have also checked in FS00 tcode that particular G/L account exist for that Company code and Chart of accounts combination. But still these values are not comming in the NWBC front.

 

Am I missing anything to showcase the values? Could anyone please help on this issue.

Dump in Approval Step - WS75700040

Hi,

I created a custom data model and assigned workflow WS75700040 for approval process.

I am able to create a change request, but when trying to execute the work item from SBWP, i receive a dump as shown below.

 

Verified event linkages also.

Please help me resolve the error.
